Full Day Wasini Island Itinerary
Your Wasini Island day trip begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or residence in Diani Beach or Mombasa. You will drive to Shimoni village, the gateway to Kisite Marine Park.
From Shimoni, board a traditional motorised dhow and sail to Kisite-Mpunguti Marine National Park, a protected marine reserve covering approximately 28 square kilometres of coral reefs.
Enjoy snorkeling in the warm Indian Ocean waters, where you can see colorful coral reefs, tropical fish, sea turtles, rays, and moray eels. The area is rich in marine biodiversity, making it one of the best snorkeling spots in Kenya.
There is also a high chance of spotting dolphins in the Shimoni Channel, and during the season (August to October), you may even see humpback whales.
After snorkeling, sail to Wasini Island where you will enjoy a delicious Swahili seafood lunch. After lunch, take a guided walk through the coral gardens and learn about the island’s culture and environment.
