Day 1: Nairobi – Aberdare National Park
Your safari begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel or an agreed venue in Nairobi. Travel north into the Aberdare National Park, located in Kenya’s central highlands. Upon arrival, check in at the iconic The Ark Safari Lodge, perched above a natural waterhole where elephants, buffalo, and other wildlife often gather.
After lunch and a brief rest, enjoy an evening game drive through the park’s lush forests and moorlands. This is a great introduction to the unique flora and fauna of the Aberdare ecosystem.
Day 2: Aberdare National Park Trekking Adventure
After breakfast, embark on a full-day guided trekking safari with a packed picnic lunch and an armed ranger for your safety. Trek through the moorlands, valleys, and forested hills of Aberdare National Park, spotting wildlife such as elephants, buffalo, bushbucks, and a wide variety of birds. Marvel at scenic waterfalls, including the Karuru and Magura falls, and enjoy the peaceful landscapes that make Aberdare one of Kenya’s most stunning safari destinations.
Return to The Ark Lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Aberdare National Park – Nairobi
Start the day with an early morning game drive, followed by a guided nature walk to the spectacular Karuru and Magura waterfalls, where you can photograph the pristine forest scenery and wildlife. After lunch and a short rest at the lodge, depart for Nairobi, arriving in time for your evening flight or drop-off at your hotel.
