Day 1: Nairobi
Depart by air or rail to Nairobi where you will meet our driver / guide. You will have a chance to visit the animal orphanage or Nairobi National Park. Nairobi national park is one of the oldest national parks in Kenya, it was gazetted in 1942. It covers an area of 162 km2 and it’s home to the big five of Lion, elephant, leopard, rhino and buffalo. Altitude is 1,660 metres above sea level. Physical attractions in the area include woodland and grassland savannah, eucalyptus and Acacia bushes among others. You will have your lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant (Carnivore Restaurant is a five star restaurant. The menu consists of grilled game meat and barbecue). After lunch, visit the parliament buildings and city market. Drive to city hotel for check in, dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Lake Naivasha
Wake up at 6.00 am for a full breakfast and depart to Lake Naivasha – a distance of 80 kms with a stopover at the Great Rift Valley view point. Visit the Hells Gate National Park where you will have a walk to view the birds and animals till lunch time. Drive to Lake Naivasha Lodge near to the lake shores for check in and lunch then relax till 3.30 pm where you will have a boat ride or birds nature walk (Option). Lake Naivasha is a fresh water lake which covers an area of 162 km2 and is one of the great lakes found in the Great Rift Valley). In this region, the landscape is highland. Lake Naivasha has an altitude of 1,798 metres above the sea level. Physical attractions include Fever Acacia and Mt Longonot (which is one of the volcanic mountains). Animals seen include hippos, Birds (Pelicans, Eurasian Roller, king fisher, fish eagle etc). Dinner and overnight at Lodge).
Day 3: Lake Elementaita
Wake up at 5.30 am for a cup of coffee or tea and have a nature walk with our specialist naturalist till 8.30 am then walk back to the hotel for a full breakfast. Depart to Lake Elementaita driving along Nairobi Nakuru highway – a distance of 40 kms. Arrive at Lake Elementaita Lodge at around 11.00 am and begin a walk on the shores of Lake Elementaita exploring and filming. Lake Elementaita was discovered by Lord Burden Cole and Lord Dalamare where they found a nice place to settle and began farming. It’s famous for flamingos, pelicans, fish eagles, storks, Ibis, king fishers and horny bills among others. It covers an area of 52 km2 and it’s an alkaline lake with soda ash which is food to lesser and greater flamingos. Lake Elementaita has an altitude of 1,875 metres above sea level. Drive back to the hotel for check in and lunch and relax till 4.00 pm. Visit the white settlers’ farms for histories about the colonial period and proceed with the nature walk with our specialist naturalist. You will be back to the hotel at around 6.30 pm. Dinner and overnight at Lodge.
Day 4: Lake Bogoria
Wake up at 6.30 am for a full breakfast and depart to Lake Bogoria – a distance of 200 kms. Arrive at the gate at around 12.00 pm and begin a game drive along the shores of the lake and back to the hotel for check-in and lunch. Relax till 4.00 pm where you will proceed to another game drive along the shores of Lake Bogoria. Visit the Geshiry Hot Spring where you will have a walk for one hour. Lake Bogoria is located along the Great Rift Valley with a landscape of larva after the volcanic activities, semi arid and semi desert. It’s attractive because of the hills surrounding the lake. This is also an alkaline lake covering an area of 43 km2 with a depth of 30 metres. The altitude is 3,172 metres above sea level. The lake is a home to flamingos, pelicans, water birds, cormorants. Animals found are impalas, greater kudus, warthogs and Grant gazelles among others. Dinner and overnight at a lodge.
Day 5: Lake Baringo
Wake up at 5.30 am for a cup of coffee or tea and drive to the lake for a nature walk along the lake till 8.30 am and back to the hotel for a full breakfast and depart with a packed lunch to Lake Baringo – a distance of 40 kms arriving at Lake Baringo at around 11.00 am. Have a boat ride exploring the birds, crocodiles and hippos. Thereafter, ride to the islands where you will have the chance to visit the Njembis and Turgen Manyattas learning about their characters. They are river Lake Nilotes who migrated from the southern Sudan. Lake Baringo covers an area of 260 km2 having a depth of 120 metres. Animals found here include crocodiles, hippos, monkeys and several types of fish. Have your picnic lunch at the island and then make a last ride exploring the birds.You will find birds such as pelicans, fish eagles, storks, Ibis, king fishers, cormorants, herons and horny bills among others. Ride to the jet and drive to Lake Bogoria for dinner and overnight at a lodge.
Day 6: Lake Nakuru
Wake up at 6.00 am for a full breakfast then depart to Lake Nakuru – a distance of 160 kms. Arrive at the gate at around 12.30 pm and begin a game drive en route to Flamingo Hill Camp for check in and lunch. Relax till 4.00 pm where you will head on for another game drive and nature walks along the lake shores till 6.30 pm. Lake Nakuru is alkaline and a home to millions of flamingos and pelicans. Lake Nakuru covers an area of 202 km2 of which 40 km2 is covered by the soda ash lake. Physical attractions include the euphorbia trees, fever Acacia forests and the landscape is a grassland savannah. Most animals seen are white rhinos, lions, Rothschild giraffes, leopards, buffalos, gazelles among others. Dinner and overnight at Camp.
Day 7: Lake Victoria
Wake up at 6.00 am for a full breakfast and depart to Lake Victoria – a distance of 300 kms, arriving at around 1.00 pm. Check in at Sunset hotel for lunch. Relax till 4.00 pm and have a walk along the shores of Lake Victoria. Lake Victoria is the largest lake in Africa shared by three African countries namely Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. It was named after the late queen of England who was known as Queen Victoria. It’s the source of river Nile (the longest river in world). It’s a fresh water lake as it has inlets and outlets. Most of the people found in this area are Luos among the river lake Nilotes who depend mostly on fish as their staple food. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 8: Lake Victoria
Wake up at 6.00 am for a full breakfast and have a boat ride to Ndere Islands with a picnic lunch. A full day is spent here exploring crocodiles, hippos, and tortoise and also you will have a chance to see different species of birds. Ride back to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Masai Mara
Wake up at 5.30 am for a cup of coffee or tea and have a walk along the beach of Lake Victoria or a city tour of Kisumu City and then back to the hotel for a full breakfast. Depart with a picnic lunch to Masai Mara driving a distance of 400 kms. Arrive at the gate and begin a game drive till evening where you will drive to Keekorok Lodge for check in, dinner and overnight. Masai Mara National Reserve has an area of 1,584 km2 and it’s one of the famous and most visited national reserves in Kenya. Physical attractions include Mara River, Talek River, Loita hills, Serengeti plains and the annual wild beast migration during July to September. The landscape is woodland and grassland savannah with acacia forests. Masai Mara is famous for lions, elephants, leopards, cheetah, gazelles, rhinos, hyenas among others. It’s also attractive for bird watchers and news analysts. Dinner and overnight at Lodge.
Day 10: Masai Mara
Wake up at 5.30 am for a cup of coffee followed by an early morning game drive and back to the camp for a full breakfast. After breakfast proceed for another game drive visiting Mara River for hippos, crocodiles and the migration point of the wild beasts. (There’s another option of proceeding for a game drive with a packed lunch till evening). Masai Mara is a paradise for different species of birds including ostriches, Marabu storks, crown birds, eagles, hawks, vultures, Dinner and overnight at Lodge.
Day 11: Masai Mara – Diani
Wake up at around 5.30 am for a cup of coffee followed by an early morning game drive and back to the camp for a full breakfast. After breakfast, proceed for another game drive and back for an early lunch at around 11.30 am. You will be transferred to the airstrip and depart at 1.30 pm to Diani arriving at around 4.00 pm.
